Louise Banks

Exercise Professional

Louise began her career in fitness teaching physical education in schools.  Following a career break to bring up her family she began teaching classes at her local fitness studio and added to her timetable with additional sessions in the community for two local authorities.

After qualifying to teach exercise for the older adult, Louise began to successfully offer this genre of class within the private and public gym sectors and was involved in a study on the effect of exercise on residential elderly which further supported Louise’s ethos that we should all be exercising through every stage of life.  Louise was also part of a team involved in setting up a GP referral scheme for a local council to encourage older adults to continue exercise later in life.

After exploring other avenues including training others to deliver classes, Louise has returned to her first love of meeting new students and helping older adults enjoy healthy and active lives.
