Shane Ryan

BSc (Hons), CSP, HCPC
Chartered Physiotherapist
Available: Monday - Thursday (Falkirk)

Shane completed a diploma course in Physiology and Health Science at the Institute of Technology, Carlow before moving on to study for his Bsc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in Northumbria University, Newcastle in 2015.

After graduating he decided to stay in Newcastle (he had grown attached to the accent!) and worked with Connect Health providing physiotherapy to NHS patients within GP practices, as well as on-site Occupational Health Physiotherapy provision for multiple businesses. Keen to expose himself to as many learning opportunities and environments as possible, in his spare time he also provided physiotherapy services local amateur and semi-pro football clubs.

He ventured over the border to Scotland in 2017 where he has continued to expand his clinical knowledge and experience by working as a clinician in private practice, in a clinical managerial role and as a student educator with Glasgow Caledonia University.

As well as exploring different working environments Shane loves to learn and he has a wide and varied CPD portfolio. He is an injecting therapist and holds a post-graduate certificate in musculoskeletal medicine injection therapy. He has completed acupuncture and dry needling training and Mulligan mobilisation courses.

Whilst Shane has made Scotland his home, he definitely hasn’t lost his Irish lilt. He spends his spare time hiking, watching movies (Marvel movies are a particular favourite!), going to the gym, recreational running and playing Gaelic football for both Glasgow Gaels and Scotland.

Choosing to see Shane as your physiotherapist you can be assured of a compassionate, knowledgeable approach. Someone who will use his multifaceted clinical skill set to facilitate an optimum recovery, no doubt with a bit of craic along the way!
