Biomechanical Assessment

This involves analysis of the way the body moves in relation to each part (the study of biomechanics). Often injuries occur due to biomechanical issues and can therefore be prevented if the cause for the injury can be identified. A biomechanical assessment would involve reviewing current exercise in a detailed history, examination of foot posture and then biomechanical assessment of walking and running on the treadmill if necessary. This assessment may be done as part of an MSK injury assessment as often biomechanics is involved in injury. Dr Beck works within a team of clinical specialists, such as physiotherapists, and referral may be recommended as part of the a treatment plan.
