Dr Beck is highly skilled in the use of ultrasound scanning. She holds an MSc in medical ultrasound, specifically in the musculoskeletal system. Ultrasound is a great tool for the assessment of MSK injuries and can in some circumstances give prognosis in terms of length to recovery. Ultrasound is particularly useful for imaging shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles as well as tendons and muscles. Depending on what is seen on ultrasound a guided injection may be advised which Dr Beck is able to do on site. If ultrasound is unable to give a definitive diagnosis, other forms of imaging such as X-ray, MRI or CT can be arranged.
