Musculoskeletal Injuries

Musculoskeletal injuries can cover a broad range of symptoms and signs and can sometimes be related to other medical conditions including, but not exclusively, diabetes and osteoarthritis. With her training first as a GP and then as a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine, Dr Beck is able to use her unique skill set to review your injury alongside your overall health and advise accordingly. During this consultation she will take a thorough history, examination and devise a plan in conjunction with you. This may include the need for ultrasound imaging at the time, recommend a return to the clinic for an intervention such as ultrasound guided injection or onward referral for other imaging that may include MRI or CT. This may also require a medication prescription or physiotherapy referral. Some common problems seen include:

  • Shoulder pain
  • Achilles tendon problems
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Stress reactions or fractures
  • Tennis and Golfers elbow
  • Hamstring injuries
  • Knee joint pain secondary to osteoarthritis, cartilage damage or ligaments
  • Hip and groin pain
  • Back pain
